Cruisin' down the street in my 6-4.

Ride 67

Well this ride started out a little different than all my others. Bright and early at the crack of 9:30 Morgan rolled up to Court and I's place. The plan was to head up to Kelowna to deliver two Kayaks to his Aunt Terry, who was meeting us half way as she's from New Denver. Morgan had the 'yaks strapped to the chicken coupe and we wedged our bikes and gear in underneath.

The Kayaks were described as parachutes, and the 60 kph on the hills proved it.
We bungeed the bike to the chicken rack sides. It worked really well and there was no rubbage.

So we were on the road and on our way. We pulled into the Best Western by the Orchard Park mall at around 1pm and proceeded to transfer the kayaks onto Terry's Subaru. Afterwards we headed for eats in Westbank and by 3:30 we started the climb at Smith Creek. Smith Creek is described as all-mountain riding and it sure was. It started with a beautiful single track climb which was about 12km, even though it felt like more. We arrived at the faux top after about an hour. The view here was wicked, but little did we know that we were only about half way up.

Another hour or more and we finally hit the top. Unfortunately the view wasn't as good from here. Morgan put a call in to Manny and got better directions on the best way down and we were off. It started with a wicked interior forest single track which quickly turned into a 10-15min climb, during which we came across this wicked Chevy Impala!
Ride through the cab over the bench seats springs and down the intake manifold, back onto the trail.

From here the trail turned downhill and we were having way too much fun to stop and take pictures. Imagine a ribbon of single track weaving through the trees with bermed turns and what seems like a hundred booters, ranging from 2-4ft. This has to be one of the best rides I've been on. I want to do it again.

The drive home found us in the rain on the west side of the Coquihalla pass, quite a change from the Okanagan sun. I finished my day at about 10pm when Morgan dropped me off. Then sleep.

Dank

Ride 64

Sumas

Holiday Sauce, Extra Sauce, Emma Peel, CYOA, Police Line.

Went for a quick swing shift XC ride this morning. I rode the hardtail as the Enduro is in the shop getting a mysterious headset creak looked at. About half way up the drive to Batt Rd is where you entered the clouds. By the time you hit the parking area visibility was about 30 ft. 10 mins into the climb the rain started, and the higher you went the harder it got. Absolutely drenched I ducked in at the start of Holiday Sauce and proceeded to stay up right the whole way down. I can't saw enough how much I like the additions to Extra Sauce, any time you can stay off the logging road is good in my books.

Duck Farm Exploring.

Ride 63

Vedder Mtn

Duck Farm (up), Hobo Rd, Outhouse, unnamed trail, Duck Farm (down).

Went for an afternoon ride and did a little exploring around Vedder. I totally missed the entrance to the unnamed trail that connects to the Duck Farm. Spent a bit of time on a sweet moto trail called Outhouse. It would make for a very good XC ride if one was up for it.

Caught up!!

Ride 62

Ledgeview.

Ambidexcross, Lazy Boy, Tools of the Trade,Buttafuoco, Hidden Valley Connector, Flintstones, Spawn of Boulderdash, Autobahn.

So after that Whistler trip I went to work on Wednesday and Thursday. I was felling funny Thursday afternoon and by Friday morning the Flu and set in. After 5 days of feeling like absolute garbage I finally ventured out today. The plan was to ride the HT (Enduro is in getting a couple warranty bugs worked out) from the house and play the climb by ear. There are numerous points along the climb where one can duck out and head back down. Once I hit the single track I was starting to feel good and the next thing I knew I was at the cell tower. Now that doesn't mean my sinuses weren't clearing themselves the entire ride up. The vultures were out in full force today and the trails were running well.  There was a motorbike on some of the trails again, at least it's being gentle and not roosting all over the place. I shot some video today. Nothing fancy jsut showing the weather, how grown in the trails are and the vulture cruising for lunch.

still lazy!!

Ride 61

Whistler Bike Park

Heading up with Morgan and Chris for a mid week Whistler day. It was a super fun day. I managed 9 laps and could have squeezed in 1 more if my fingers weren't so cramped. No pictures.

Got lazy!!

Ride 60

Sumas Mtn.

Time Killer, TK Connector, Police Line.

I was planning on going up and writing the trail profile for Time Killer this day. Just as I rode to the Disco/Plum rock the heavens opened and it hammered down rain on me. I didn't mind the rain, but I wasn't comfortable using the camera in it. Managed to snag a couple pictures before it really got ugly. As I headed down Time Killer on my HT I was having a great time....until I flatted in the clear cut. There I was in the pouring rain trying to swap out the tube, great fun! Then I got majorly lost when trying to locate the new trail that by passes Time Out to get you back to the road.

Ride 59

Vedder Mtn.

Duck Farm Loop Trail.

An early morning Saturday ride. Well not that early. Started pedaling up at 9 am and was at the top by 10. By 10:19 I was back at the truck. The forest has finally started to grow in...and that means stinging nettles. They were everywhere and my legs took the brunt of it.  Trails are running great and it was a beautiful day as well. Took a few photo's of the freshly grown in green stuff.

Ride 58

Bear Mtn

Two laps of Lorax and Smoking Bobo, followed by a run down the DH course. Rode with Collin and his crew today....shuttle style. Felt like I cheated but mutli laps of Lorax was fun.

Ride 57

Ledgeview

Little Butt, Hidden Valley Connector, Flintstones, Spawn of Boulderdash, Autobahn.

Wet ride with the boys last night. We schralped Ledgeview a new one. Scott rode big wheels and Doug twisted his knee. Other that that it was a soggy good time. It was raining so hard at the start of the ride I didn't take the camera along. It did stop once we got to the top though. Pics that follow are from the clean up.

Ride 56

Ledgeview

Lazyboy, Tools of the Trade, Flintstones, Spawn of Boulderdash, Autobahn.

7 days off the bike and good to be back on it. There was a break in the weather and I got away for a quick rip.
I also finally got a picture of the Enduro at that spot on Lazy Boy.

Ride 55

Sumas Mtn.

Knob Gobbler, Noah Fear, Lower Time Killer, Time Out.

This one is a little late. Pedaled up from the bottom. A little bit of snow at the top, trails were clear. Knob is running good, but it was a little wet up there. Some tards wrecked up the upper gate again.
